Volunteer

You will receive far more than you give when you volunteer with Catholic Charities, where a wide variety of opportunities are available. You can organize donations, help at garden sites, shop with clients at our choice food pantry, or choose from many other options. You are welcome to volunteer once or on a regular basis. Please note that some volunteer opportunities require Safe Environment Training and a background check.

Schools

Local schools are some of our most faithful and appreciated partners in serving people in need, both giving to and receiving from Catholic Charities. Your school can organize donation drives for us, collecting canned goods or winter coats, for example, and also volunteer with our programs. And we’re always so pleased to contribute to your school by providing guest speakers on topics that range from refugee resettlement to urban gardening to Catholic Social Teaching.

Parish

Your parishioners can find new ways to live out their faith in collaboration with Catholic Charities. Your teams can partner with us to welcome families resettling here as refugees or provide ongoing support to moms in need. You can support donation drives, volunteer, and regularly pray for our work. We’re honored to also contribute to your parish by sharing the expertise we’ve gained through serving. We’re happy to provide guest speakers and to collaborate with you on your goals.

Businesses

If you already are one of our business partners, thank you. If you’re not, please join us! You won’t find a better organization with which to pursue inclusion and diversity, economic responsibility, environmental care, workforce development, and straight-up help for people in need. There are a number of ways for you to engage. Share your time, share your resources, or share your expertise.

Support our Enterprises

You can help our social enterprises provide opportunity for clients while bringing financial support to programs. Our culinary arts job training program, Common Table, offers six-week subscriptions to homemade soup and small-batch breads, as well as catering that offers unusually robust box lunches perfect for business meetings. Our Language Services program facilitates training multi-lingual individuals as interpreters and then providing access to interpretation in 200 languages. Proceeds from these social enterprises return to fund the programs.

Events

You don’t want to miss the best Mardi Gras party in town! Held annually on Fat Tuesday, Rouler is our biggest fundraiser of the year and features live music, food, gaming, and an open bar. Other events throughout the year include a Thanksgiving meal for those recently resettled here as refugees, a vibrant celebration of World Refugee Day, Christmas giveaways, free community meals, and back-to-school drives.
