Emergency Financial Assistance

Sister Visitor Center can help prevent utility shutoffs or eviction by pledging a portion of what’s needed to extend services or rent for 30 days. Clients may be asked to make a partial payment if bills exceed what we can pledge or if services are already disconnected. To be eligible to receive assistance you must live in our service area (all of zip code 40212 and parts of 40211 & 40203 as part of the Association of Community Ministries).

Ways you can help

Everyday, families are facing food insecurity, housing instability, and the daily stress of poverty. But when you show up, you’re not just meeting needs—you’re restoring dignity, offering encouragement, and showing that no one has to struggle alone.

  • Food Pantry Support – Help stock, organize, and assist neighbors as they shop for nutritious food with dignity.
  • Behind-the-Scenes Support – Sort donations, prepare hygiene kits, or assist with special projects.
  • Group & Corporate Volunteers – Bring your team to make an impact through service projects that bless entire families.
  • Donate Essential Items – Your gift of essential items—like food, toiletries, or cleaning supplies—helps neighbors meet their most basic needs with dignity.
