Catholic Charities Connect Series offers inside look at its programs

Catholic Charities Connect Series will offer opportunities in September and October to learn more about the programs the agency offers.

During the one-hour sessions, attendees will meet staff, tour the facilities, hear personal stories and have a light meal catered by the agency’s Common Table. The sessions will be held at the agency’s West Louisville campus, 2234 W. Market St. The Dates and topics are:

Catholic Charities more than halfway to fundraising goal

Catholic Charities of Louisville has reached 61 percent of its fundraising goal to build new headquarters in the 2900 block of South Fourth Street behind Holy Name Church.

The project is expected to cost about $7.5 million and thus far donors have given $4.55 million. Read more.

Sister Visitor Center celebrates 50 years

In the late 1960s, a handful of Sisters of Charity of Nazareth teaching in West Louisville noticed their students were coming to school hungry and wearing dirty clothing.

Upon visiting the students’ homes, the sisters found homes that lacked food and running water. They decided something needed to be done to help the families.
