
Society of St. Vincent de Paul
Mission: St. Vincent de Paul Outreach Ministries provides compassion and support to the underserved of Nelson County by:
- Administering funding for need-based emergency rent and utility assistance.
- Operating a thrift store to provide good for those who need an affordable place to shop.
- Operating two food pantries within Nelson County where clients can choose their own groceries, directed by financial need and family size.
- Delivering prepared food to homebound and needy persons within Nelson County.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Monday-Friday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Welcome guests
- Act as cashiers
- Sort/hang clothes
- Assist food pantry clients
- Deliver meals to the homebound
- Drivers are needed for the big trucks (no CDL required) that serve as mobile food pantries.
- Half-a-day, weekly is preferred, but can be accommodate other schedules.
- Volunteers bring their own lunch, if volunteering a full day.

Donations Needed:
- Clean and new or gently used clothing
- Household goods
- Durable medical equipment and furniture
- Donations that are torn, stained, or smell of smoke are not accepted
