Moving from a direct service position to a supervisory position I feel the best days have taken on new meaning. When I moved into this position, what was very important to me was that the case managers felt supported as their work can be very hard and overwhelming. When the pandemic hit I was very worried that with working mainly from home, being responsible for my children’s schooling, that I would not be giving the case managers my very best support.  I put a lot in place over the past year to try and ensure that they received support. A few months ago or so, I received a staff star from one of the case managers who talked about how supported they felt and even turned down a job offer because they knew they wouldn’t get the support that they have received at BEI. This makes it my very best day because if your staff is supported then they will be able to give their best to the participants we serve and that is the most important.
