Last month our employees who have their spouses on our Humana health insurance received notice of the need to verify through Cotiviti. The process has been paused at the present time.  Once it starts back, if you have already completed the process, there is no need to resubmit; however, if you did not complete the verification process, you will need to do that once it starts back.  See more information from Humana below.

An important communication for you regarding Humana’s dependent eligibility verification process

You recently received a communication from us that shared our plans for improving quality and affordability by conducting dependent eligibility verifications.

Since then, we have spoken with many of you to get feedback about the timing and approach of our verification process. You shared that the way the initiative was introduced could have better reflected the trusted partnership we have built together and that the communications provided to you and your employees could have been clearer.

We understand that healthcare is one of the most essential parts of your employees’ lives and we sincerely apologize for any frustration this may have caused. It certainly was not our intent.

Our commitment to a thorough review

Given your feedback, we have paused the eligibility verification process so that we can thoroughly evaluate the program and make improvements before moving forward. We will be notifying impacted members via mail that they don’t need to take action until further notice. We will share a copy of this letter with you for your awareness. In the meantime, should your employees have questions about the audit, they can call the number on the back of their Humana member ID card.
