Abdul is a young man who was a supervisor at a truck company in Afghanistan, where he also helped Americans, checking deliveries and guarding land and equipment. He and his family received threats in the past but when threats and danger escalated, he was evacuated to the United States last August and resettled to Louisville in September. He was the first clients from Afghanistan received by MRS. Since he fled, the Taliban has been to his home in Afghanistan asking about his whereabouts. ILS (Zoila) filed his asylum application in late February, he traveled to Chicago for interview in early April, and on May 13, he was granted asylum, securing his right to remain in America!
