More than 50 former employees are joining Catholic Charities’ newly created “alumni” association under the leadership of Darko Mihaylovich, who retires from Catholic Charities this week after nearly 24 years of service, and Deacon Lucio Caruso, who retired in 2021.

SVC Lunch and Team Building Day

The SVC team gathered for a yummy lunch and team building activity on Tuesday, Dare to Care truck day. The team played a friendly game of Jeopardy to see who knew the most about SVC, Catholic Charities and our West End community. The team also welcomed AJ (our Maryhurst representative) to SVC. We are all excited to have AJ join the team to help connect our clients to mental health resources provided by Maryhurst.

WDRB: Collecting furniture for refugees

Catholic Charities of Louisville collecting furniture to keep up with higher influx of refugees

Refugees have a lot to worry about once they get to America. They often face challenges including language barriers, housing insecurity, and transportation issues. The organization expects to furnish homes for roughly 700 refugees and migrants before October 1, 2024.  Watch broadcast

Mentor Mentee Spotlight

Three cheers for Amaya, Ayamey, and their mentor Erin for completing 1 year in the mentoring program this week!

With Erin’s support, Amaya and Ayamey reached their goals of improving their grades in English, math, and history, while also making incredible progress in their self-confidence and English fluency.
