Amy Nace-DeGonda and Marissa Castellanos provided a full day Train the Trainer “Human Trafficking 101: An Overview” to staff at Family and Children’s Place, the local children’s advocacy center. Ten staff participated in the training, where we discussed definitions and terminology, vulnerable populations, Kentucky state law, Kentucky-specific data, and specialized services. Tamar Israel stopped by and shared information on prevention education. These 10 training participants now have the information and resources they need to provide HT 101 training and awareness in the community. This training was provided as part of the Bakhita Training Institute, to build capacity for professionals to provide training on human trafficking that will increase identification of victims and access to services.
