Every month we send bulletin announcements to parishes in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Here’s are this month’s announcements. FYI, we send both a text and a graphic version that bulletin editors can drop into their publications, and we send Spanish versions. Thanks to Language Services for the speedy and accurate translation! What we include here is just straight copy.

Residents in long-term care facilities have rights that are too often neglected and denied. You may be just the person to visit them and help protect those rights. Our Long-Term Care Ombudsman program befriends and advocates for residents in facilities in 15 counties. Email Moira Brennan at mbrennan@archlou.org to learn more about becoming the defender so many residents need right now.

Sophia came to the United States from the Honduras alone at age 12 to escape her unsafe environment and the gangs harassing her on her way to school. She was reunited with her mother shortly after her arrival in March 2016, and Catholic Charities began the long journey of applying for Special Immigrant Juvenile status. Now her deportation case has been closed, her green card application approved in July, and she can finish high school knowing her status in the United States is secure. Thank you for supporting our work with asylum-seekers with your prayers and financial gifts.
October 3
October is Respect Life Month. At Catholic Charities we work on behalf of the faithful every day to respect the lives of people exiting human trafficking, resettling here as refugees, needing job training, living in poverty, expecting babies, residing in long-term care facilities, seeking language access, farming to sustain their families, and looking for legal assistance. Join us in respecting life. Visit us at cclou.org to volunteer, donate, and learn more.
