Catholic Charities is thankful for the generous support of community partners, including those who have awarded a total of $77,341 in grants just in the month of March. They are as follows:
FEMA Emergency Food and Shelter Program (through Metro United Way–$17,331 for Sister Visitor Center’s emergency financial assistance with rent that allows families to maintain stable housing
Sisters of Charity of Nazareth–$40,000 to Immigration Legal Services for its Fee Waiver Program that provides legal services to qualifying clients regardless of their ability to pay
CCUSA Nation of Bridge Builders–$15,000 for a welcoming program aimed at strengthening relationships between refugees and neighbors who may be opposed to their presence. Peyton Rhea and Lay-Play Cho will be leading this initiative.
5/3 Bank Foundation–$5,000 for Sister Visitor Center’s Choice Food Pantry to purchase additional food. Visits to the pantry have quadrupled over the last two years, jumping from 517 month in January 2021 to 2.013 a month is January 2023.
