Mission
Community Support Services equips families in all stages of life, literally from the cradle to the grave, including best practices for moms in need, support groups for people facing all kinds of struggles,, emergency housing for those experiencing domestic violence, a food pantry in central Louisville, and burial services for those who die without the family or resources to provide them.

Support for Moms
We’re proud to partner with Norton Healthcare to provide Mother Infant Care classes that prepare expecting women for pregnancy, birthing, childbirth, and parenting. Classes are taught by Norton’s professional educators. We provide participants with incentives to attend, including car seats and cribs.
Mama Matters is a support group for moms with children ages five and under. Here moms learn from each other while sharing their joys and struggles. They also receive important supplies with their participation in the group that meets on the second and fourth Thursday of the month.
Father Jack Jones Food Pantry
Named for the Catholic Priest who founded Dare to Care in 1969, the Father Jack Jones Food Pantry serves families in central Louisville in partnership with Dare to Care. The pantry is located on the Holy Name campus, just two blocks north of Churchill Downs, and is staffed primarily by volunteers from Holy Name and Holy Trinity Catholic churches.

Indigent Burial
We provide burial and cremation services to those who die without the families or resources to do so. Students from nearly every Catholic high school, and volunteers from all walks of life, regularly attend the services, where they act as pallbearers, serve as readers, and, sometimes, add music to the ceremony. The outreach is funded by Louisville Metro Government and is done in collaboration with the Coroner’s Office.
Support Groups / Family Ministries
We collaborate with the Archdiocese of Louisville to provide support groups that address all kinds of challenges, including recovery from divorce, grandparents raising grandchildren, families wrestling with addiction, people experiencing grief, couples struggling with infertility, and so much more. Visit our Get Help page to see all available support groups.

Domestic Violence Support
In collaboration with St. Vincent de Paul Louisville, we provide rapid rehousing—quick access to safe housing—for those exiting domestic violence. Case managers work with clients to assess their needs, provide housing, and connect them with other resources.
Hispanic Services
We collaborate with the Archdiocese of Louisville’s Office of Hispanic Services to make social service programs offered by Catholic Charities and other community organizations more accessible to Hispanic and Latino individuals and families. This includes support groups, help with Christmas and back to school, and services for families.
