As you may have seen in the news, OSHA has issued a regulation that requires all employers with more than 100 employees and all federal contractors must have proof of vaccination or a weekly negative COVID test result on file for every employee as of January 4, 2022. Catholic Charities of Louisville has more than 100 employees, and given our extensive federal grant support I believe we may also qualify as a federal contractor for the purposes of this regulation. (You may also have seen the news that this regulation is already subject to litigation. Setting aside any questions of when the litigation will resolve or what likely success it will have, my understanding is that the lawsuit only challenges the rule as to large employers, not federal contractors.)
Accordingly, Catholic Charities of Louisville will plan to be in compliance with the regulation as announced. If you are already fully vaccinated, Vetta should have your information on file. If Vetta does not have your vaccination information on file, you will hear from her privately.
Some staff have inquired about vaccine boosters. This eligibility varies depending on the date of your last vaccine shot, which vaccine you received, your age, and whether you are frequently in contact with members of the public. If you would like a booster shot, feel free to seek one and discuss your eligibility with a vaccine provider. Catholic Charities does not require a vaccine booster at this time.
