Deirdra Beck has joined MRS as its Reception and Placement Caseworker. Deirdra describes herself as, “a young, upbeat, African-American woman” from Franklin, Kentucky. She moved to Louisville in 2012 after receiving a full academic scholarship to THE University of Louisville (GO CARDS!!). Once completing undergrad, she was accepted to Campbellsville University where she earned her master’s of social work while working full-time, serving as the 2nd Vice President of the Beta Alpha Xi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, and fulfilling church obligations. Deirdra said she is “no stranger to hard work” and is known for being empathetic, direct, efficient, enthusiastic, organized, and level-headed. She said she looks forward to the challenges that will come with this new position as she knows she is well equipped to handle anything. Outside of work, Deirdra practices self-care by talking on the phone to her mother, cooking, and trying new foods. Welcome, Deirdra.
