When Deacon Andy Heinsohn locked the doors of the Father Jack Jones Food Pantry that Thursday, he did not know what he would do when the pantry opened again the following Wednesday. Now serving as many as 100 visitors a day, the food pantry had only peanut butter and mandarin oranges in stock. He knew he would receive some food from Dare to Care on Tuesday, but it was scheduled to be a small pickup. His monthly large pick up was still another week away. So, Deacon Andy did what he always did. He prayed.

When he arrived at the Dare to Care Warehouse on Tuesday, an employee met him at the dock. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what happened,” he said to Deacon Andy, “but we have your monthly large shipment ready today a week early. If you don’t have room for it today we can hold it for you.”

Deacon Andy smiled. “Oh, we have room for it. We sure do.”

Deacon Andy’s eyes are rimmed with tears when the tells the story. “It’s a miracle,” he says. “Well, a small one. No, it is a miracle. It is.”
