Katie Norton and Layne Sanders (MRS) arranged a wonderful workshop for young people in the Pave the Way mentoring program for teens who have resettled here with their families as refugees. About 15 participants spent an afternoon at Heine Brothers’ Coffee training cafe on Main Street. They learned about careers, human resources, accounting, entrepreneurship, and the production and roasting of coffee. Students received lunch at the cafe and even had the opportunity to make drinks at the end of the workshop.
If you know Heine Brothers’ Cafe owner Mike Mays, People Services Manager Kelly Hatton, or Head Trainer Joe Dininger, be sure to pass along our appreciation. Great job, Katie and Layne!
