Last Sunday Lisa spoke to the Lebanese American Club about a proposed gift to support Catholic Charities. They voted to approve a $600,000 gift! A $250,000 portion of the gift will be directed to the new building, where we will include a multi-media installation about the history of the Lebanese immigrant community in Louisville in one of the classrooms. Another $250,000 will go to support our programs that serve immigrants. The final $100,000 will be set aside in a permanent endowment for Immigration Legal Services to assist clients who are unable to pay their fees. (We typically fundraise for this need throughout the year – the endowment will serve to carry us over when we run low on funds between gifts.)
