Matthew S. Whisman is a graduate of the St. Xavier High School Class of 2012, University of Kentucky class of 2016, and is currently completing his master’s in Public Administration at University of Louisville, before starting his next degree in the fall. During his years in school, he enjoyed teaching classes on UK’s campus as a student teacher and being active on campus through student government and Greek life. He previously worked at Hand in Hand Ministries in Auxier, KY, for the University of Kentucky, and Nazareth Home of Louisville.
His hobbies include historical research, family genealogy, hiking, volunteering with different projects, traveling, and playing sports. Matthew says he considers himself a movie connoisseur, professional food critic, and amateur cryptozoologist. In his free time, you can find him exploring a museum, hiking with his dog, Ophelia, or trying a new restaurant.
He is an active member of several organizations including: the Knights of Columbus, Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity, a Captain in the CAP (the US Air Force Auxiliary), The Sons of the American Revolution, and a number of other civic, chivalric, and historical organizations and societies. Matthew says he looks forward to his new role as Indigent Burial Coordinator and meeting all those that work at Catholic Charities and those they serve. Welcome, Matthew!
