JOB DESCRIPTION

 JOB TITLE:               Assistant Director, Sister Visitor Center

EXEMPT STATUS:    Exempt

JOB GRADE:             8                                             

REPORTS TO:           Director, Sister Visitor Center

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Assistant Director is a staff member of the Sister Visitor Center (“SVC”), a program of Catholic Charities of Louisville, Inc. The position reports directly to the SVC Director. The Assistant Director is expected to be familiar with all operations of SVC including client financial assistance protocols, services SVC provides to clients, funding sources’ reporting requirements, and the general operations of the Center. The Assistant Director supervises several staff including the Case Managers, SNAP Outreach Coordinator, and any interns or practicum students involved with case management. In keeping with the Mission and Vision of Catholic Charities of Louisville, this person is required to demonstrate the Values of the agency:  Welcome, Empower and Strengthen.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:  

  1. Assist SVC Director in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for SVC, including protocols and procedures consistent with Catholic Charities policies and grants guidelines.
  2. In collaboration with SVC staff, prepare and submit all programmatic, in-kind, and other performance reports.
  3. Conduct regular audits of physical and electronic client case files to ensure compliance with funding sources’ guidelines.  Report findings regularly to SVC Director as well as relevant SVC staff.
  4. Oversee Case Managers, SNAP Outreach Associate and any interns or practicum students involved in case management. Acts as tasks supervisor for practicum students.
  5. Participate in case management as needed, with a particular emphasis on complicated or difficult client cases.
  6. Work closely with the Development Department and assist in grants preparation on behalf of SVC.
  7. Assist SVC Director in developing annual goals for the Center and tracking progress toward goals.
  8. Other tasks as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This work is performed in an office setting with moderate noise due to computers, printers, and people moving about.

 EFFORT:

  • Ability to accurately examine and analyze information.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs.
  • Specific vision abilities include close and distant vision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

 MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT:

Computer, Printer, Calculator, Copy Machine, Fax Machine, Telephone Systems, Scanner and Shredder

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Bachelor’s degree is required. Masters in Social Work is preferred.

Minimum of three years’ experience in providing direct social services is required. Supervisory experience is required.
