CCL provided Christmas to 500 children, 350 adults

This year Catholic Charities of Louisville provided Christmas for 195 families served by our programs.

That breaks down to $30,000 of gifts and toys and $11,000 in gift cards to 500 children and 350 adults. Special thanks to the many volunteers who donated 115 hours of time, and to staff who also donated 115 hours.

It’s all fun and games until somebody loses an eye

It was fun and games at an appetizer lunch Wednesday afternoon at 2911. Our winners were Holly Baumer Smith, Cydnei Dean, and Ellen Hauber, each with a score of 3 (because there’s just no good way to word “got three balls in Santa’s pants”).

Thanks, Rebecca Cottrell, for the fun and games! Click here to see your colleagues wearing the St. Knickers.

Self care is health care, especially this season

“One of the best guides to how to be self-loving is to give ourselves the love we are often dreaming about receiving from others. There was a time when I felt lousy about my over-forty body, saw myself as too fat, too this, or too that. Yet I fantasized about finding a lover who would give me the gift of being loved as I am. It is silly, isn’t it, that […]

With Sarah cheering her on, Deborah recently got her driver’s license, applied for FAFSA, and started the enrollment process at JCTC. She started classes in January!
“She has worked so hard to make all this happen,” Sarah shared. “We love celebrating these milestones together.”
