Bas Gula worked as an advisor for the governor’s office in Mehtar Lam. In addition, her sister was an activist and member for many years of the Provincial Assembly, advocating for justice and children’s and human rights. She was evacuated to the United States on September 3, 2021. ILS (Zoila) filed her asylum application in late March, she traveled to Chicago for interview in mid-May, and on August 2, she was granted asylum.

It happens a lot. Deacon Andy Heinsohn saw a man outside the Father Jack Jones Food Pantry, which had been closed for hours. He was roaming, looking a little lost and a lot in need.
