LTCO celebrated Juneteenth in Bardstown

Long-Term Care Ombudsmen Beverly Broadus, pictured, and Susan Kiningham, celebrated Juneteenth with the Bardstown community on Saturday, June 18. According to Beverly, the community event was a wonderful collaboration among St. Monica Catholic Church, First Baptist, and the AME churches in Bardstown. Louisville Metro language ordinance

Louisville Metro Government made official last week a language ordinance that requires all Louisville Metro offices to provide language access through interpretation and translation. While we don’t yet know to what extent our Language Services will be involved in the implementation of this, we know we will be.

Cydnei Dean named director of CSS

Cydnei Dean has been named new director of Community Support Services. The program now includes the Father Jack Jones Food Pantry, Indigent Burial program, rapid rehousing for those exiting domestic violence or trafficking (in partnership with Saint Vincent de Paul Society), Hispanic Services, Family Services, and, of course, Mother-Infant Care classes and other mom-centric support groups. An update from Bakhita Empowerment Initiative

Since June 2021, Bakhita Empowerment Initiative has been working on a large labor trafficking case with Rebecca Banks as the primary case manager.  As we reach the one-year mark of case management services with these 10 individuals, we’re pleased to report that they all have become gainfully employed, have stable housing, have received temporary immigration relief, are pursuing long-term immigration relief, and have received substantial medical care and support.
