SVC food pantry meeting more needs than ever

The need for a west Louisville food pantry open to clients every weekday has never been greater. Visits to our Sister Visitor Center food bank dramatically increased every month last year, jumping from 517people in January 2021 to 1,433 people in December 2021. Thanks to everyone at SVC for doing such a great job in caring for our neighbors in need.

Lebanese American Club makes major donation

Last Sunday Lisa spoke to the Lebanese American Club about a proposed gift to support Catholic Charities. They voted to approve a $600,000 gift! A $250,000 portion of the gift will be directed to the new building, where we will include a multi-media installation about the history of the Lebanese immigrant community in Louisville in one of the classrooms. What’s in a name?

Family Support Services has picked up a new name. It’s now Community Support Services to more accurately reflect the breadth of its outreach.

Community Support Services continues to nurture healthy families with Mother-Infant Care classes for expectant moms, Mama Matters support groups for moms of young children, and Arts in Play classes where moms and children can dance, sing, and play together. (Cydnei Dean)
