So many parishes and schools contributed to Catholic Charities over Christmas, providing gifts for families in need and cards for residents in long-term care facilities across central Kentucky. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity, we received nearly 20,000 Christmas cards allowing us to give two cards to every resident in our care! And those same people helped to provide Christmas to 158 families representing nearly 600 individuals.

As you know, construction of the desperately needed Catholic Charities Center has been stalled while activists have appealed decisions in favor of Catholic Charities from Metro Council, Jefferson Circuit Court, and the Kentucky Court of Appeals. I am thrilled to report that the Kentucky Supreme Court has declined any further review of this matter, and at long last, litigation is at an end.

The Gheens Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to Immigration Legal Services! The grant will go towards providing legal services at lower rates to immigrants and refugees, including evacuees from Afghanistan.
