CCL wins $77,000 in grants in March

Catholic Charities is thankful for the generous support of community partners, including those who have awarded a total of $77,341 in grants just in the month of March. They are as follows:

FEMA Emergency Food and Shelter Program (through Metro United Way–$17,331 for Sister Visitor Center’s emergency financial assistance with rent that allows families to maintain stable housing

Pin the tail on the donkey … with a twist!

Last week in classes with Madison McMullen, students working on their English were learning direction words like up, down, left, and right. They had a great time practicing these by shouting direction words to help a student pin the tail on the donkey. Watch the video below!

Common Earth Gardens builds raised beds

Common Earth Gardens staff recently built raised beds for a family involved in our In-Home Garden Project. With the project, newly arrived refugee families who would like to farm their own culturally important foods receive raised beds at their homes. This is one way of equipping them to thrive in Louisville, especially when there is a waiting list for garden plots at our many community gardens. Volunteers give spring breaks helping CCL

Volunteers from three universities gave their spring breaks in service to Catholic Charities of Louisville recently.
