The heart of the Sister Visitor Center lies in the command of Christ to feed the hungry, clothe the naked and shelter the homeless. SVC assists with the most basic human needs including food, clothing, and emergency financial assistance. We recognize the dignity of all people and work in solidarity with those who are most vulnerable. Last week, Alisa, Amina, and Simon from Language Services led a workshop for MRS Youth on how to become language interpreters! Students got hands-on practice translating a document from English into their first language. Many youth in our program are already multilingual and were excited to learn about a new, flexible career option. Thank you, Language Services, for your visit!

Sadiq worked with the Khost Protection Force as a guard and as a result is a target of the Taliban. He was evacuated to the United States on August 26, 2021, with his wife and 5 children. ILS (Zoila) filed his asylum application in mid-February 2022, they traveled to Chicago for interview in late March, and on February 23, they were granted asylum.

The leadership team recognized Bakhita Empowerment Initiative as February’s program of the month with a celebration at Market Street Thursday. The whole team was there, including staff from Lexington and Owensboro. Congratulations! We all are proud of the work this team does and does so well.
As you may have read in the email from Dr. Brian Reynolds, Chancellor and Chief Administrative Officer of the Archdiocese of Louisville, Humana has made the decision to discontinue offering Employer Group Commercial Medical plans after 2023.
Q: So, what do I need to do at this time?
A: Very simply, you do not need to do anything. All medical plan coverages, doctors, pharmacy/prescriptions, claims processing, etc., remain in place.
