Former activist wins asylum

Bas Gula worked as an advisor for the governor’s office in Mehtar Lam. In addition, her sister was an activist and member for many years of the Provincial Assembly, advocating for justice and children’s and human rights. She was evacuated to the United States on September 3, 2021. ILS (Zoila) filed her asylum application in late March, she traveled to Chicago for interview in mid-May, and on August 2, she was granted asylum.

Man looking for food finds butterflies … and peace

It happens a lot. Deacon Andy Heinsohn saw a man outside the Father Jack Jones Food Pantry, which had been closed for hours. He was roaming, looking a little lost and a lot in need. Former interpreter for U.S. wins asylum

Abdullah is a 32-year old who worked as an interpreter for Americans from 2015 to 2017, and after the Taliban took control they came to his office twice, searching for him because of his past work as an interpreter and support of the Americans. Hi, I am Emily Dudley the new Community and Donor Relations Coordinator.  l live in Henry Co with my husband and daughters. When I am not busy with my family and work you can find me in my garden, cheering on the Yankees, reading, and traveling. Staff recognition luncheon cancelled

The Archdiocese’s annual staff recognition scheduled for September 2 has been cancelled because at least 7 of the 17 people to be recognized for years of service could not attend. According to Chief Administrative Officer Brian Reynolds, the Archdiocese will look for another way to honor colleagues. He also asked for suggestions on a new annual event and time.
