Bakhita staff informs in Lexington, Louisville
Bakhita staff provided Human Trafficking Awareness this month to students and staff at Bryan Station High School in Lexington. The presentation and materials were available in English, Spanish, Swahili, French, and Kinyarwanda to ensure language access for all participants.
In addition, Bakhita staff had an informational booth at The HUB with Jefferson Community and Technical College to raise awareness about human traffficking and share information about Bakhita programming and services. This will be a monthly event throughout the Fall 2022 semester.

Participants move to independent housing
Bakhita staff have been working hard moving program participants into independent housing. Habitat Restore donated some furniture to Bakhita, which staff picked up and moved to the housing locations for participants.

Suicide is most prevalent among white men
Did you know that men are 3.88 times more likely than women to complete suicide in the United States? The rate of suicide is highest in middle-aged white men. Researchers posit that many men contemplating suicide do not seek help because it makes them appear weak.
